Lisa Edwards

Originally from NJ, my career has placed me in a few states including TX, the sands of Saudi Arabia, TN and PA. I have lived here for almost 14 years but only recently decided to make this my permanent home.

After graduating from high school, I joined the Army Reserves and got a scholarship to Rider University and joined ROTC. During the school year, I carried full course loads and usually a full-time job. My first summer after graduating. I completed Basic Training. The next summer was my Advanced Individual Training (AIT). The next summer I completed the Officer Basic Course (OBC) where I was commissioned as a 2LT. After graduating, I went active duty as an Air Defense Artillery (ADA) Officer on the Hawk missile system. My highlight was serving as a Platoon Leader during Desert Storm.

As a single parent of a 10-year-old boy, I decided to separate from the military. The next 10 years, I worked for Sam’s Club and Value City as a Manager (Operations, Marketing, Merchandising, Receiving). While working as a substitute rural postal carrier, I began taking classes which eventually led me to New Jersey Institute of Technology. I received a Bachelor of Architecture.

Then my husband retired and decided to move to NC. I obtained my NC Realtor license with Long Foster, worked for Burkes Outlet as Lead Supervisor, Chowan County as Income Maintenance Caseworker (COVID era) and remote Customer Service Representative for QVC. I spent the last year assisting my son in opening his business, MOJA LIFE, a cannabis dispensary in NJ while also becoming an independent travel consult hence Experience Life Travel and joining the Chamber of Commerce.

My name is Lisa Edwards. Mother to John Dockery, Nana to Havana Dockery (4-year-old DIVA) and Mommy to my fur baby, Palu (after Troy Polamalu of the Pittsburg Steelers). I love to travel. I love all types of crafts-painting, sewing, making soaps. I am handy with some power tools and will bait my own hook and take the fish off.
